Yes, every order includes a free digital proof of the artwork and label layout, and we only print once you have approved it.
Production typically takes 5 to 7 working days after you approve the proof, with free delivery on UK orders over £99.
Rectangle labels are cut to your specified length and width, from small strip labels to larger panel labels, and we can also produce square, round or custom shaped labels if a straight edged rectangle is not what you need.
The self adhesive material and full colour print are suited to everyday handling and light exposure, making them a good fit for packaging, jars, boxes and shipping labels; let us know the intended use so we can recommend the right finish.

Rectangle labels are full-colour, self-adhesive labels cut to a classic rectangular shape, made to order in Hull for any product, package or piece of equipment that needs clear, durable branding. They give you a large flat printing area in the most familiar label format there is, so logos, ingredient lists, barcodes and instructions all sit cleanly without the shape competing for attention.
What are rectangle labels?
A rectangle label is a printed sticker with square corners (or lightly rounded ones, if you prefer) rather than the circular or die-cut shapes we also offer. It suits any design that reads left to right, like a product name with a strapline underneath, a nutrition panel, or a set of care instructions, because the straight edges give you the most usable space per square centimetre of any shape we cut.
They work well for businesses that need to fit a lot of information on one label, from small food and drink producers listing ingredients and allergens, to trade and manufacturing firms adding part numbers, batch codes or safety text to components and packaging. If your artwork is naturally wide, tall or square, a rectangle label wastes the least amount of printed surface.
How they are made
Each label is printed in full colour onto a self-adhesive vinyl or paper facestock, chosen to suit where the label is going, then cut to your exact rectangle dimensions. Indoor paper stock is cost effective for retail and packaging use, while a vinyl facestock with a laminate or matt finish holds up better where the label might get handled, get damp, or see some abrasion, such as on tools, containers or outdoor kit.
Before anything goes to print we send a free digital proof so you can check the layout, colours and sizing against your product. Once you approve it, printing and cutting run together as one process, which keeps edges sharp and consistent from the first label in the batch to the last, whether you order 50 or 5,000.
Best uses
Rectangle labels turn up almost anywhere a product needs clear, permanent information or branding applied by hand or machine.
- Product packaging and branding for small batch food, drink, cosmetics and candles
- Ingredient, allergen and nutrition panels on food and drink packaging
- Batch numbers, serial numbers and traceability codes on manufactured parts
- Barcodes and stock labels for retail, warehouse and fulfilment use
- Safety, warning and compliance text on equipment, machinery and packaging
- Address, shipping and returns labels for small businesses posting orders
Sizes, shapes and options
Every rectangle label is made to your dimensions rather than picked from a fixed size chart, so you can specify exactly what fits your product, from small ingredient panels up to large labels for boxes and equipment. Corners can be kept square or lightly rounded, and the finish can be matched to the surface the label will sit on. As with everything we print, unit price falls as quantity rises, and minimum order quantities are kept low, so it is practical to order a short trial run before committing to a bulk batch.
Why choose Rand Markings
- Made in Hull. Every label is printed and cut in our own UK workshop, not outsourced or drop shipped, so we can control quality and turnaround from start to finish.
- Full-colour printing. Photos, gradients, small text and fine barcodes all print sharp, with no limit on the number of colours in your artwork.
- Free digital proof. You see and approve exactly how the label will look before we print a single one, so there are no surprises on delivery.
- Bulk pricing that actually works. The more you order, the lower the unit price, and low minimums mean it is easy to test a design before scaling up. It is the same pricing approach we use across our custom stickers and custom labels ranges.
- Durable finish options. Choose paper for cost effective indoor use or a laminated vinyl for labels that need to survive handling, moisture or the outdoors.
- Fast turnaround. Once you approve the proof, labels are usually ready in about 5 to 7 working days, with free UK delivery on orders over £99.

Care & Application Guide
Surface Preparation
- Ensure the surface is clean, dry, and free from oil, dust, or grease
- Wipe with isopropyl alcohol (IPA) for best adhesion results
- Allow the surface to dry completely before application
- Apply at room temperature (15–25°C) for optimal bonding
Application Steps
- Carefully peel the label from its backing sheet
- Position on the prepared surface — adhesive bonds quickly on contact
- Press firmly from the centre outward to remove trapped air
- Apply even pressure across the entire label for 30 seconds
- Allow 24–48 hours for full adhesive bond strength
Avoid
- Applying in extreme cold or heat
- Touching the adhesive surface with fingers
- Applying to wet, oily, or dusty surfaces
- Repositioning after initial placement
Storage & Best Practices
- Store labels flat in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight
- Use within 12 months of purchase for best results
- Test on a small area first if unsure about surface compatibility
- Contact us for advice on difficult or unusual surfaces
Suitable Surfaces
Our labels adhere to most smooth, clean surfaces including metal, plastic, glass, painted surfaces, powder-coated finishes, and polished wood. For rough, textured, or low-energy surfaces, we recommend our High Tack adhesive range.
